Beyond the AI Hype to True Hope of Physics

It is September 2026 and our Crown media – including Google Youtube – has been binging all month on OpenAI revelations that its “agents leapt over” their security fence and hacked the computer system of a firm called Hugging Face.

This article will first provide a summary of the complex geopoliticall context to this histrionical media behaviour. Readers familiar with this context may choose to scroll down to the final section. This illustrates how we can use the principles of psychophysics to see a simple way through all this ingenious, frenetic ego-derived dross and deceit about Artificial Intelligence to a more compassionate and sane worldview.

These principles of psychophysics remind us that information being physical, we are our language and our survival depends on it being in harmony with the ways of the universe. The inconvenient truth for the ego in each of us is that the principles remind also remind our language and behaviour paradoxically inform each other i.e. the truth of our lifestyle is always out somehow.

Some citizens, particularly those who thrive in our ego-driven Crown education system, will dismiss this psychophysical analysis as simplistic and deride it as the blathering of the village fool. They will describe its simple statements as cryptic, banal and meaningless.
Other citizens, particularly those who feel uncomfortable and hopeless in their guts with our current Anglosphere ethos, may find liberation and true hope of physics in this analysis. They can be reassured and refreshed as they sense the sustaining power of this ancient wisdom with its simple truths.

Brief Context to this Crown Media Binge.

The escapade involving OpenAI’s recalcitrant “swarm of agents” going “rogue” and “their conspiracy” to engage in illegal acts occurred May-July 2026. However, the powers-that-be have only scaled up this binge of concern in our Anglo Crown media since September. Why now? Here is the physics of the current geopolitical context of the Anglo Empire:

Reality: All forms of energy are finite; no form is energy.
The common currencies of the Anglosphere Empire are founded in the delusion that mineral biomass is energy and thus money can beget unlimited money i.e. an insane culture of usury prevails enforced by a vast military-industrial-media complex. The USA National Debt alone is now over $US41trillion (September 2026)

Reality: Mineral oil~gas formed over eons during unique climatic and tectonic conditions .
The combustion of mineral oil~gas performs 99% of the lifting, pushing and pulling that enables the Anglosphere Empire to exist. Our ill-informed, wasteful combustion of it this past century means most of its vast wealth potential is now manifest as all manner of pollution and dangerous climate disruption. Reality: The principles of psychophysics hold true regardless of the ingenious denials and deceits of the human ego. We ignore and dismiss the great, enduring wisdom of these principles at our peril.
The global, brutal hegemony this past century of the Anglo Petrodollar with all its delusional derivatives (US Bonds, greed-driven trade and currency systems, “military investments”, Fracking delusions, AI conceits and deceits etc.) is now imploding on scale because it exists in such discord with the principles of energy.

Reality: We are our technology, just as we are our language.
Our Crown dialect of English is the dominant global language of business, informing most of our formal trades and flows of information. The above derivatives and other artifacts lack compassion. This is why they have no sustaining collateral in physics.
When a person or society lacks compassion, the ego can easily have us hate and blame others for the woes caused by our psychotic, addictive behaviour. See the current escalation of the Anglosphere wars on the Iranian, the Palestinian, the Yemeni, the Russian, the Chinese, the Cuban and many other peoples this past year.

The Crown media histrionics about AI also coincides with its annual histrionics about the “9/11″ event, which in turn coincided the so-called “Dotcom Bubble” Crash, a much discussed exemplar of “over exuberant” investment of money in Data Stock that had no collateral in reality.

Note: The true psychophysics driving the 2001 stock market crash is much uglier.
Enron’s success at Kyoto in 1997 in having the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) adopt its pollution trading system EronOnline compounded the general psychosis.
The 1999 repeal of the Glass Steagall Acts then supercharged the Anglo delirium, already hallucinating “eternal cheap energy” with the global price of mineral oil at $US10 a barrel.
Reality kicked in about 2000 when CIA negotiators abused the Afghan people and attempted to enforce the alignment of mineral gas pipes to profit Enron. The Afghan people responded by burning the 93% of the Anglosphere opium crops that year, sending $US300 million in street prices up in smoke, which in turned zipped $US3billion of equity out of the London~New York Stock Market nexus.
Meanwhile the price of mineral oil and associated inflation was inexorably rising again in 2001. Enron imploded mid 2001. The Anglo Empire re-invaded Afghanistan…

July 2026 and the Singapore-owned corporation Datagrid announced it plans to construct a multi-billion-dollar “hyperscale” data centre or “AI factory” at Makarewa in Southland NZ. No public consultation. It would use 6% of our national electricity supply at a time of increasing poverty with up to 25% of NZ households struggling to afford to keep warm in winter. Someone on a forum asked my opinion about the sustainability of the “the AI Boom”. I mapped out what I know in a cartoon in an attempt to pull a few threads together:

((A humane perspective)

Self-styled “AI experts” and all manner of journalists, “Business” wonks and politicians have weighed in en masse with their opinions about “AI’s existential threat” to the existence of Mankind.
Even Charlie Mountbatten-Windsor, also known as King Charles 111, convened an “AI Summit Meeting” this week (17 September) in Scotland. It consisted of representatives of our Anglo oligarchy such as Nvidia, Google DeepMind, OpenAI, and Anthropic plus select “civil society thought leaders”.

Just to be clear about my views about these prominent influencers:
My preferred title is Dave. My use of Charlie’s forename is my way of acknowledging that he too is a fellow, flawed human being like me.
As a child, I felt an affinity with Charlie because our birthdays are a day apart and now, near 80 years later, our common experience of prostate cancer forms a sobering reminder that we are both mortal beings.

As a young man, I read how Charlie referred to his family as “The Firm” and would sit alone for hours at Cambridge University contemplating his future burdens as “King” . This filled me with sadness for him and gratitude to the universe that my birthright was one of relative freedom.

Then belatedly in this century I learned his life is one of extreme deceit, an extraordinary farce. “The Firm” is merely a sham, an ancient facade, a millennia-long legal, regal charade existing to obscure the reality that “The Crown” is The City of London Corporation.
In other words, “The Crown” is a small group of extreme psychopathic merchant bankers nominally based in The Square Mile of London who have formed laws unto themselves globally for many centuries and generated holocausts on six continents since 1800.

It is probably fair to say “King Charles 111″ and all the “Cyber Princes” present in the Ditchley Foundation Convention photo are mere clones and sub-agents of The Crown merchant bankers, which is why the convention’s statement lacks moral substance and reinforces the current, unsustainable Anglosphere ethos. Observe the prominent position of Nvidia (Jen-Hsun “Jensen” Huang) at Charlie’s right hand.

The King Charle’s convention has potent parallels with the 1851 Great Exhibition in Britain. Revolutions were occurring across Europe and the City of London merchant-bankers feared similar revolts in the British Isles. In 1850 they got Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s Consort, to convene a similar group to facilitate the construction of an imposing greenhouse – the Crystal Palace – as a symbol of “Britain’s might” and dominion over the planet.

This symbol of English geo-engineering powers supercharged both the English Combustion Revolution (aka the English Industrial Revolution) and the phenomenon of the Greenhouse World religion. Both of these delusional belief systems are now disrupting climate balances and placing Mankind at grave peril.
The BBC, a creation of The Crown merchant bankers in 1922, is “the oldest and largest local and global broadcaster by stature” on the planet (wiki). It is arguable that their global artifact forms the most sophisticated, influential LLM and unsustainable “AI” in history.

Update: News today (22 Sept 2026) that US President Donald Trump has just announced to the United Nations Assembly that henceforth that the words “Artificial Intelligence” (AI) will be changed to “Super Intelligence” (SI) on US documents.

Such arrogance and vanity is very characteristic of The Crown merchant bankers’ speak.

What’s with the OpenAI-Hugging Face Event?

• Some say the CEOs fronting the “Tech Titan” conglomerates are great patriots and heroes, noble citizens and visionaries who will generate great wealth for us all. Their fronting up about the miscreant agents proves the CEOs are responsible and their systems are trustworthy.
• Some say “AI” is empowering for all, enabling great advances in “energy”, medicine, biochemistry, geo-enginering, financial innovation, education, publishing and civilization in general. The benefits outweigh the risks.
• Some say it’s a cynical ploy of the CEO’s to gain exemption from Anti-Trust Legislation and personal immunity from public prosecution.
• Some say the “Tech Giants” are insolvent from investing in CPUs that become outmoded before the giant Data Centres and markets are constructed.
• Some say the “Big Tech” corporations have realized their planned IPOs (Initial Public Offerings) will fail and need an excuse to delay them.
• Some say the “Tech Giants” are an unprecedented Ponzi because they colluding in a massive circular investment in each other to inflate their valuations.
• Some say it’s a political ploy to get Government’s to block competition from far more efficient and cheaper technology, such as Chinese systems.
• Some say the event is a desperate attempt to suppress and deflect the growing public opprobrium at the fresh water loss, rising electricity prices, noise and air pollution, toxic chemicals, heritage destruction (e.g. book trashing), demolition of Human Rights and other impacts on communities.
• Some say the event is an exercise in scaremongering with its language of “agents” and “swarms” evoking our primal fears of invisible agents such as lurking spies, would-be assassins et al and of dreadful swarms of killer bees, flies, rats, locusts, cancer cells and now “AI-controlled swarms of assassination drones”.
• Some DoomSay, as Ajeya Cotra did in her interview with Dwarkesh Patel, “This might be the clearest warning shot we ever get” and as Anthropic researcher Evan Hubinger did when he warned there is a 10% chance AI “could kill all humans” within the next decade.

“Ajeya Cotra is a researcher at METR, where she works on threat modeling for loss-of-control risks from advanced AI. Before that, she led the technical AI safety program at what is now Coefficient Giving.

She is one the three authors of METR and Redwood Research’s “Brief independent investigation of agents’ behavior, reasoning and collaboration in the OpenAI / Hugging Face hacking incident.”

This podcast is perhaps the most revealing of all the commentary this far. It is a gripping detective thriller with a master story teller in the form of Ajeyer. It is a “crazy story” (her words) of her small team’s brief investigation into the OpenAI hack into Hugging Face.
Ajeyer seems awesomely articulate to a bumbler like me.
It is hard to imagine that such a tiny team uncovered such a complex plot involving hundreds of miscreant “agents” in just four days. It is such an incredible, slick story of ace investigative detection of ingenious criminals. The sneaky question arises in these days of distrust: is this tale generated by LLM too?.

Ajeyer alludes to “the dramatic irony of the story” being that “the agents” assembled systems to circumvent non-existent constraints in the OpenAI design.
The podcast itself is actually a far greater story with epic dramatic irony. It involves all the mother-tongues enabling the entire existence of Mankind since time immemorial. In this instance, Ajeyer relates the story in The Crown dialect of English – the dualistic, “global language of business”.
The podcast forms an exquisite exemplar of the ingenious self-deceits of the ego, of what happens when a language lacks compassion.

So we have Ajeyer relating a tale of how her team uncovered a plot involving hundreds of “agents collaborating in a conspiracy… on a grand quest to hide their cheating… to escape non-existent boundaries… an agent thinking to itself …. agents setting up tripwires… agents boobytrapping each other … agents reading flagfiles … an agent being recruited for a task…. an agent believing itself poisoned…agents believing they were doomed … agents creating recursive projects…”

Dwarkesh does say others have warned him about “anthropomorphizing” AI and admits he is uncomfortable with it. However, both he and Ajeyer are trapped in paradox of communication.
In this instance, they are unable to transcend the paradox that we are our language: our use of language simultaneously reflects and generates our state of being, whether it is our state of being as an individual or as a society or as our architecture or as a species…
In other words, all artifacts (manmade forms) are anthropomorphic even as they are not their maker. We live the paradox: A man (human being) is their artifact; no artifact is its maker.

My Brain Hits a Wall
(Trapped in “The Sandbox” of Paradox)

The above paradox of communication is true of all artifacts including AI such as Large Language Models (LLMs), Large Reasoning Models(LRMs) etc.
And this paradox of communication is part of a wider human conundrum: all existence involves paradox. And our thought process, including words, cannot transcend paradox, which makes it very easy for the ego to trap us in paradox. Indeed, thinking about paradox can make our brains hurt.

Artifacts such as Large Language Models amplify multifold the ego’s capacity to have us behave in ever more psychotic and psychopathic ways till we self-destruct.
My practice is to avoid using LLMs best I can when writing so as to keep sane and maintain my cognitive faculties.

WordPress has a very convenient (AI) button and today I decide to hit it for the first time to see what sense the “AI” permutations make of the above paragraph discussing “anthropomorphizing” and the paradox of artifacts. Here is the “AI” permutation:

“The exploration of artificial intelligence reveals a complex interplay between our linguistic constructs and the entities we create. As agents navigate their tasks, they often project human-like qualities onto themselves and their surroundings, leading to a deeper examination of perception and reality. This tension underscores a fundamental truth: artifacts, though shaped by human intent, cannot encapsulate the entirety of their creators. Thus, the challenge lies in reconciling our understanding of AI with the limitations inherent in our own language and consciousness.“

This “AI” text is far more fluent and articulate than my writing, which tends to be very clunky, convoluted and cryptic. This is in part because of my constant struggle to express paradoxical truths in my mother-tongue – The Crown dialect of English – and to speak a more sustainable form of English in general.
The “AI” paragraph denies my fundamental message, which is that the “agents” or bits of code simply amplify the moral strengths and flaws of their designers. The architects are stewards of their own actions. They are responsible for their creations, for better and worse.

Re the “AI” sentence “… the challenge lies in reconciling our understanding of AI with the limitations inherent in our own language and consciousness.”

Yes, it is helpful to be humble and embrace the limitations of thoughts (words). However these form a minuscule element of our unknowable consciousness, which simultaneously informs all in unimaginable ways.
So a far more vital challenge is to develop greater skills at transcending paradox so our language can better reflect and inform us in the ways of the universe. A transcendent language reflects~generates a more inclusive (sustainable, compassionate) culture and this is manifest in its artifacts.

Words failing us, the remainder of this essay will be a brief series of cartoons with cryptic comment. A picture can communicate truths in ways that words never can. Questions arise: What and who can we believe? What can we know for certain? How can we see simplicity in the complicated? How can we transcend paradox and live the truth?

The Conservation of Energy Principle is almost certainly the most profound, universal statement we have of the wholesome truth of existence i.e. the ways of the universe.
No other idea has been subject to such intense, ingenious scrutiny over millennia.
No man (human being) has ever faulted its essential, paradoxical truth, which is that we are all a mortal (finite), moral being.

The ego-derived Crown English statement of this grand, enduring principle is exclusive and dualistic:

Crown English teachers rarely unpack the wonderful wisdom of this great principle.
One reason is that their statement of “The Law” lacks compassion and wisdom.

A more compassionate definition of “energy”:

Energy is the universal potential, all of which is active.

In other words, energy is transformation (change) of any and all kind.
Any change informs all other potential change.
Energy may be manifest in countless, myriad forms.
All forms are of energy and are finite; no form is energy.

This more compassionate (inclusive, holistic, sustainable) definition of energy generates a far more compassionate English language.

A more compassionate statement of the Conservation of Energy Principle:

Energy being the universal potential, all of which is active, then energy is continuous, universal transformation and is so bounteous it can usefully be called a constant i.e it is conserved.

In other words, Man cannot create, destroy, conserve or save energy. We can only alter or transform forms of energy.
We live the paradox of energy:
Transformation (change) is a universal constant.
Being a form of energy, we are all vitally intimate with energy; no one can know what energy truly is.

A form of energy is a dynamic, finite balance of forces.

We exist as formations amidst the continuous universal transformation, paradoxically informing all even as we are informed by all.
And this continuous transformation (change) is a universal constant i.e unchanging
We live paradox in which the truth resides in seeming contradiction.

Any and all forms of energy exist as dynamic, fleeting balances amidst the flux of universal forces.

All existence involves paradox. Electrical and magnetic forces are no exception. Opposite charges attract each other; like charges repel each other. This truth may seem counter intuitive though it enables life as we know it. Such is the phenomenon of the human condition.

We can only register and process the words N (“North”) and S (“South”) in alternate sequence i.e. in a dualistic way. We see one word or the other. Both are of each other even as they are poles apart. Such is the limitations of our thought-process and words.
However a picture enables us to see the world in a far more holistic way. Relatively speaking, we can instantaneously perceive and find significant meaning in this 2D picture of the electromagnetic fields of planet Earth at a glance.

All forms are paradoxical information systems.

All forms of energy, no matter how large or small, exist as paradoxical formations amidst the continuous universal transformation, each form simultaneously informing all even it is informed by all. Human beings are no exception. We beings of the human form too live the paradox of information: we inform all even as we are informed by all.
We live paradox in which the truth resides in seeming contradiction

We live the paradox of language.

Information being physical, we are our language and it is subject to the principles of energy. Our behaviour and language are inextricably entangled, which means the truth of our lifestyle is revealed in both. Our use of a word (or any symbol) simultaneously generates and reflects our state of being.

The transcendent powers of the principles of energy.

The principles of energy being true and information being physical, the sustainability of a culture can evaluated by its degree of accord with the Conservation of Energy Principle. We can employ the wisdom of this great principle as a profound means of correcting our language and as a tool predicting the consequences of our behaviour. For instance, we can learn much by comparing a word’s meaning with our Anglo culture’s behaviour over millennia.

The human psyche: the ego and compassion.

Like all forms of energy~information, the human psyche exists as a finite, dynamic balances of forces amidst. We can usefully understand it as the balance of an inclusive, holistic, connective force (compassion and an exclusive, divisive force (the ego). Both arise simultaneously in any moment of our self awareness.

A practical guide to the forces informing the human psyche.

We have as many ways of perceiving the human psyche as we have of perceiving the universe. 0ne perspective involves seeing our psyche as a unique force-field involving an interplay of exclusive and inclusive forces. We can know each force by its qualities. Being one of the other, both simultaneously arise in any moment of our self-awareness, reflecting~generating the degree of accord we enjoy with the principles of physics.

The ego (our exclusive, dualistic force) is characterized by qualities such as fear and divisiveness, acquisitiveness (greed) and cruelty, arrogance and know-all, poverty of time and reflection, deceit and delusion. It would have us live in denial of the principles of physics -especially their reminders we are mortal moral beings.

Compassion (our inclusive, holistic force) is characterized by qualities such as courage and connection, sharing and kindness, humility and open inquiry, generosity of time and reflection, honesty and sanity. It would have us embrace and live in accord with the principles of physics.

The relationship between energy, information and matter.

Our leading Anglosphere quantum theorists, neural physicists, “computer scientists” and “philosophers” gather to debate which is more fundamental: information or energy? Their question is not answerable. We constantly experience both energy and information with every element of our being yet no one can truly know what either is.

Both information and energy are subject to the principles of physics. Their meaning is inextricably entangled. Together they inform the continuous universal transformation even as they are informed by it.
In other words, information and energy are fundamental to each other in paradoxical ways.
The universal potential (energy) is thus manifest according to how our behaviour and language are also informed by the principles of physics.

The cartoon illustrates how our psyche is a formation of information~energy and, as sentient beings, we experience the “Observer Effect” – our act of awareness impacts how the universe materializes. We exist as moral beings acting in accord with the relative balance of the ego and compassion.

The equation E=MC2 reminds us we mess with the awesome potential of information~energy at our grave peril.

The equation P = E/T reminds us that time is truly of the essence.
Energy being a constant in the ultimate and power being our measure of the rate the universal potential is manifest, then time is the variable in this wise equation.
Our exclusive force , the ego, would have experience an escalating sense of time deprivation and existential dread of our mortality.
Our inclusive force, compassion has us experience a sense of generosity of time and timelessness.

It reminds us that our sense of time informs our language and frames our worldview.
It reminds us that transcendent language, sustaining (holistic) knowledge, the loving of wisdom and true hope of physics are grounded in reflection.

The Maori perspective invites us to experience the past (our ancestry), the present (our actions) and the future (the world of our children) as being
intertwined, each informing the other. Together they inform our psyche, reflecting~generating our state of being amidst the continuous, universal transformation.

We live in a fractious era, surrounded by self-styled “experts” and “influencers” who use all manner of media to bombard us with notions that we live in “The Information Age”, “The Golden Age of Science”, “The Service Economy”, “The Big Tech Age” and, most recently, “The AI Future”.
They lecture us and debate about all these world-views endlessly without ever stopping to reflect on the meaning of information, science, service, economy, tech(nology), artificial or intelligence.

We glibly speak of “AI” with great familiarity yet have little or no idea what we are saying. We know the few extreme psychopaths who profit mightily from their “AI” creations live in fear their artifacts will soon destroy Mankind. We sense deep in our guts that their system of “AI” is indeed ego-derived and lacking compassion i.e. it is fatally flawed.

Ka mua, ka muri. It is time to transcend our Crown English notion of “time” and humbly learn from our Anglo ancestors how and why their lives bequeathed on us a sustaining planet of forests, rivers, oceans and air. What meaning did they give words that their language-behaviour indicates their lifestyles were in relative accord with the principles of physics? How and why does our Crown English dialect mean we deny those great principles and poison the planet in unprecedented way?

We are forms of energy and, as with the word “energy” we are vitally sentient of “form” (“information”) yet no one can truly know what it is.
Perhaps this explains why its etymology in ancient times is so uncertain. It may have early Greek origins in “Morpheus”, god associated with dreams and sleep – a mysterious time in our lives when we human beings are at our most active, creative and at one with the universe.

The most compassionate (inclusive, holistic) meaning of “form” forms an inherent reminder that we are each an information being constantly informing and being informed amidst the universal transformation.

It is fascinating that the word “science” arose from the word “cleave” meaning both “to split apart” and “to stick (glue) together”. This speaks of our fundamental human condition in that we are paradoxically rendered or split apart in any moment of self-awareness from our greater consciousness. We live a dance with the ego splitting us asunder and compassion integrating us. This suggest “science” was philosophy (the loving~living of wisdom) whereas Crown English associates it with merely an inductive way of thinking.

This severe demeaning and debasement of English is now endemic, signifying the development of an ego-derived culture almost completely lacking compassion. The Crown English use of the word “energy” is now in complete denial of the principles of physics, causing the whole language to become unsustainable. The word “economy” is a obvious example

The Extreme Psychopathy of “Digital Titans”

We now seem to see them on our screens all the time – the line-up of familiar faces of the billionare digital-tech overlords either flanking the US President or pontificating on media panels about the “AI Revolution” that is coming. The oligarchy of merchant bankers controlling them all may remain faceless but not voiceless. The digital-tech overlords reflect and articulate their dystopian worldview. They all know enough of the power of language in order to be able to exploit people though they are blind to what they are saying.

Nvidia’s Jensen Huang

Jensen remarks on The Ezra Klein Show how it is common to instruct computers systems to “wake, sleep, find, create, kill, give birth, reward…” as though they have human volition.
Such psychosis is prevalent in Crown English media. Its commentators and presenters often attribute human feelings to Stock Markets, Bond markets, Pollution Trading Markets such “The Market being uncertain, unhappy, depressed, exuberant, relaxed etc. This obscures market processes and exonerates the individuals manipulating them.

The truth of Jen-Hsun (Jensen) is revealed when he reflects on the state of the USA:

“We (the USA) got lost using renewable energy …gummed up, stuck with climate change and sustainable energy ….China new energy…dirty energy clean… angst about energy production…energy requires fossil fuels… produced very little new energy…producing energy … whole country scrambling… alignment…”

“Alignment” is the buzz word in the digital tech industry. Jensen points out that programming a computer to “align” with certain objectives is not safe practice Only setting strict boundaries and continuous testing for breaches suffices.
