The Meaning of Psychology~physics
(A brief introduction to our Psychophysics)
The human condition is such that “psychology” and “physics” are inextricably entangled. Each is of the other. Neither can be defined separately in a sustainable way. Without one, the other generates divisive, delusional language~behaviour. And this is precisely what has occurred with the advent of the English Combustion Revolution. We briefly discuss this phenomenon, outline ways to transcend our condition and avert our current course to inevitable self-destruction.
Side Note: the English keyboard has no symbol dedicated to expressing “the state of being in vital, complementary entanglement”. This inability transcend such a paradoxical situation is symptomatic of an unsustainable, dualistic culture.
Paradox, complementary forces and balance, inextricable entanglement and transcendence are all central ideas of this website. For lack of a common symbol , this site employs the tilde symbol ~~ as a means of illustrating a shared state involving profound interconnection and flow. Finish Side Note
Many people believe our Crown English notions of “psychology”, “physics” and “philosophy” have been cast in stone since antiquity. In reality, these notions are recent constructs that were devised within the past five or six generations.
Etymology of “Physics”:

Etymology of “Psychology”

The act of breathing involves the most vital, universal interaction in the human experience. It reflects~generates our state of being in profound, paradoxical ways and it is the only autonomic function of our body that we have volitional control over in any moment. Many cultures value our breath as a sacred gift and reminder of our oneness with all.
Etymology of “Philosophy”:

All three constructs are now relatively exclusive, indicating our English culture has become much less compassionate and far more ego-driven this past two centuries. This is of deep concern because this loss of compassion is inevitably manifest in flawed notions of science with knowledge being used in unsustainable, even lethal ways.

This reflects~generates a divisive culture in which vital knowledge is divorced from the daily lives of most people.
All Existence involves Paradox
(We are paradoxical beings)

The above cartoon illustrates how our existence is essentially paradoxical. It is particularly helpful to understand ourselves as information beings and how we live paradox, including paradox of information.
For instance, all forms exist as dynamic balances of information amidst the continuous universal transformation, each form paradoxically informing all even as it is informed by all other forms.
We of the human formation are no exception and our condition is confounded by the self-deceits of the ego and the limitations of the thought process.
Why is this so material to our lives? It matters because our survival depends on being able to transcend this paradoxical condition. And there is overwhelming evidence that the global spread of the Crown dialect of English is associated with a world~view generating unprecedented waste, pollution and warfare.
In brief, the exclusive character of the ego is such that it constantly endeavours to have us deny the reality of the universal transformation and though we can experience paradox in many ways, the thought process is incapable of transcending it.
This said, we can cultivate inclusive (compassionate) ways of acting and speaking that enable us to transcend this confounding situation.
A More Transcendent World~View
(Reminding Ourselves in Ancient Wisdom)
All information being physical, it is subject to the ways of the universe, to the principles of energy. And what is “energy”? No human being can truly know. We live the following paradox: every man (human being) is vitally sentient of energy with every cell of our being yet no man can know what energy is.
The human thought process is incapable of comprehending energy and no word can truly describe it. The best we can do is to conserve the most transcendent meaning of the word “energy”.
Modern quantum physics has both perplexed us and reminded us in the wisdom of the ancient sages. European pioneer quantum theorists last century slept with the Vedic Scriptures by their beds to ensure their sanity as they grappled with the paradoxical results of their mathematical calculations. Dualistic European languages made nonsense of their insights.
This ancient wisdom advises us the universe is potential beyond our imagination. Hence the most transcendent meaning of the word “energy” is that “energy is the universal potential, all of which is active”.
We live this conundrum: our existence involves uncertainty and yet it is contingent on our ability to behave in harmony with “the principles of physics”. The question arises: What can we know with the greatest certainty about the ways of the universe? What is the most inclusive and intensely scrutinized conception or principle in known history that has never been disproved?”
One conception stands out like a beacon.
Since time immemorial, men have sought and failed to create perpetual motion, discover elixirs of youth and invent mathematical equations disproving the Conservation of Energy Principle.
This great, wise principle advises us that energy (the universal potential, all of which is active) is continuously transforming all and is so bounteous it can usefully be called a constant i.e. we can neither create nor destroy it. Energy is continuous change. We can only transform it and attempt to conserve vital forms~flows of energy.
Such notions of reality, with their intimations of mortality and morality, are an anathema to the ego. This, the exclusive force in our psyche, constantly acts in incredibly ingenious ways to have us act and speak in denial of both our transient state of being and our roles as stewards amidst the universal flux.
We are only able to survive because compassion enables us to embrace the wisdom of the principles of physics. With sufficient compassion, the inclusive force in our psyche, we have the capacity to employ those insights as wise guides and to use them to evaluate the sustainability of our behaviour and language. This more compassionate analysis advises the following world view:
Physics is the experience~study of the ways of reality i.e. the continuous, universal transformation, all of which involves paradox.
Psychology is fundamentally the exercise, study and art (skill) of transcending paradox.
Philosophy is the loving of wisdom, which is the art and act of living in harmony with the universal reality.
With compassion, these paths of inquiry tend to converge into true hope of physics and our lives become more in harmony with the flows and balances that sustain humankind long term. The above transcendent meanings of physics, psychology and philosophy are far more than ways of thinking. They are all active ways of being amidst the continuous universal transformation, not mere ways of thinking.
The Liberating Power of Transcendent Language
A profound implication of these transcendent meanings is that we are all born physicists, psychologists and philosophers to a significant degree while no man (human being) is a “physicist”, “psychologist” or “philosopher”. This realization is very liberating and empowering of us all though some may find it convenient if their lifestyle is fundamentally ego-driven, lacking compassion and unsustainable.
It also means “science” is far more then just being a way of (inductive) thinking, an exclusive body of knowledge, the domain of an elite who call themselves “Scientists”. They call themselves “the fraternity of scientists” and deem over 99% of us to be “Non-scientists”.
Science is actually a profound, sustaining way and state of being that arises when we experience qualities of compassion. We are all born into a significant state of compassion and thus we are all scientists to some degree. See, for instance, a Compassionate Education Framework
And we are all non-scientists to some degree also. This is because the ego also simultaneously arises with compassion in any moment of self-awareness. The ego’s qualities of exclusiveness, self-deceit, greed and arrogance has us think and act in ways that are in denial of and in discord with the principles of physics.
We are all flawed beings in that some of our decisions and actions are unsustainable i.e. lacking harmony with the sustaining flows and balances of the universal transformation.
Any man who is so arrogant as to call themself a “scientist” demeans the word, diminishes themself and inevitably enjoys a lesser state of science.
True hope of physics resides in language that empowers all people to know each of us is born into a significant state of a science to some degree even as we are all non-scientists to some degree. It is this more compassionate world~view that enables us to develop the arts (skills) required for Civics to prevail.
The Great Question of Time
As with energy, as with information, no man (human being) can know what time is though we are all vitally sentient of it with every pulsing cell of our being. Time entangles psychology and physics in unfathomable ways and so our perception of time plays a potent role in determining their mutual meaning.
The English word “time” has been associated with division since antiquity – see “ PIE *di-mon-, suffixed form of root *da- “to divide.”
“Divisiveness” is a characteristic of the ego, hinting that our sense of time is very much its domain. The few antonyms for time offered by contemporary English dictionaries are “bore, drag, bust, downer, bummer”. The ego, ever fearful of our mortality, has us associate time with deprivation. By comparison, compassion has us enjoy sensations of timelessness and generosity of time.
Our modern corporations are founded in the notions of time having a monetary value and being a tradeable commodity. They are designed to elicit sensations of time deprivation and our acquisitive Crown English culture has us speak of “taking time” rather than “giving time”, just as it has us speak of “taking care” rather than “giving care“, just as it has us of “taking a breath“rather than “giving a breath“.
The greater reality is that the complement of “time” is “timelessness”, which is more a characteristic of compassion – the sensation of generosity, openness and sharing of time. We feel most liberated, creative and meaningful when we feel timeless. This is the state of being in which science thrives. Observe any small child engrossed studying and learning from a flower or a worm or the flow of a drop of water.
The Liberating Power of Compassion
The ego is capable of having us act with sublime arrogance. It is insistent that the “I” in our psyche knows all and is not subject to the principles of physics. It asserts “I am power” and “I am all powerful.” Such arrogance is the source of our delusional behaviour.
By contrast, compassion humbles and enables us to embrace our mortality and fallibility. Paradoxically this opens us to enquire more truthfully of the ways of the universe. Our compassion enables us to have the vast, incredible, universal potential become manifest in sustaining, enriching ways that the ego could never have us imagine.
In this context, our capacity to use transcendent words is critical to our. survival. Perhaps the most potent description of our relationship with the vast, unimaginable potential is this simple equation: P= E/T where:
E stands for “Energy” = the universal potential, all of which is active, ever-changing;
T stands for “Time“= our experience of the universal change;
P stands for “Power” = our measure or determination of the rate that the universal potential is manifest.
The big variable in the equation Power = Energy/Time is “time”.
The equation can be restated as Time = Energy/Power (T=E/P).
Hence how the universal potential is manifest depends very much on our experience of change. Is our notion of time limited to this moment of “instant gratification” or do we act in gratitude to past generations who sustain us and generosity for future generations?
For instance, do we burn mineral oil in a moment “to save our time” and ignore both the eons of forces involved creating this rare, priceless gift and the polluted, disrupted climate our combustion of it bequeaths on future generations?
Conserving the Transcendent Meaning of P =E/T
We are our language and, as mentioned, typically the acquisitive ego has us speaking of “taking time”, “taking a breath”, “taking a moment”, “taking profit”, “taking time out”, etc whereas compassion has us speak of time in all its manifestations as a gift.
Our language and use of the word “time” reveals profound truths of our lifestyles and culture.
The equation P=E/T can teach us a great deal about ourselves if we conserve its wisdom and use it with care.
Compassion has us view energy in an increasingly generous, inclusive way and the universal potential is thus manifest as cooperation, enrichment and harmony. We conserve the myriad vital forms of energy that sustain Mankind and are careful to give a name to each form that expresses its character and significance in Earth’s living systems.
By contrast, the ego has us view energy in an increasingly narrow, self-centred, exclusive way and the universal potential is thus manifest as division, deprivation, misery and war. We conflate energy with a few finite forms of energy such as mineral oil~gas and coal and use them in wasteful, polluting ways as though they are the ultimate re-source.

The ego in every man (human being) has an incredible, ingenious capacity to have any of us screen and compartmentalize information to the point our delusional behaviour drives us to extinction.
It is a sign of insanity to conflate the word “energy” with a form of energy because this is to act in complete denial of the Conservation of Energy Principle and forms lethal non-science.
Similarly it is non-science, even lethal nonsense, to conflate “power” with “energy”.
The equation P =E/T ( T = E/P) illustrates the absurdity of this notion. Substitute P with E and we get T=1, which is such an exclusive definition that it is meaningless in practical terms.
You may be familiar with the equation P =E/T from your days “doing Science” at school. However our Crown English education systems almost certainly taught you in a very exclusive, mechanical way such as measuring the power of a person to climb up stairs or how fast a car engine can accelerate the vehicle.
The Crown English “Science (Physics)” curriculum is designed to avoid the potent role our notion of time plays in the equation. This conveniently obscures our roles as stewards and reflects~generates a profoundly unsustainable culture. See these prominent British and American examples.
Summary
The human condition is such that “psychology” and “physics” are inextricably entangled, especially by our experience of time. Our sense of time has potent implications for how the universal potential is manifest in every aspect of our lives – for better and for worse. (See illustration below).

We underestimate at our peril the genius of the ego for creating delusional notions of time.
What matter if men can use time to calculate the trajectory of a space ship to the most distant planet with great accuracy but do not give the time of day for weather to warm-up so the frozen O-rings could defrost.
With compassion we are better able to balance the exclusive forces of the ego by employing the inclusive wisdom of the principles of physics to ensure our use of language enables us to transcend our human condition.
